MRO Minitwins - Team BCL

2005 MRO Minitwins - Team BCL Metal Finishers Racing

2onT reporter, Andy Brown, catches up with Robin McKee to hear how the team BCL Racing 2005 season is progressing, in this their first year in the MRO Minitwins competition.

Having first met Robin "Robbo" back in early 2004 at the ACU rookie school, things have certainly moved on a long way for Robbo since his first steps in the racing world. Having competed in the inaugural year of Bemsee minitwins, with Chris "Fozzy" Foster, the pair of riders decided that for 2005 they would consolidate their efforts with Geoff Game, who runs and manages the BCL team.

BCL Racing was formed by Geoff to create an environment that not only portrays the competitive spirit of motorcycle racing but also the fun aspect. During 2004 Geoff had a 1-rider team that contested the minitwins series as run by BMCRC and after successfully achieving 8th championship place in a very competitive field decided that for 2005 he would form the 2-man team. Geoff has been involved with motorcycle racing at the highest level for over 20 years, including experience with GP teams, and the likes of Terry Rymer, so the mechanical expertise and boundless enthusiasm and energy filters through to the rest of the team. You can readily appreciate the quality of the preparation of their 2005 bikes when you see the immaculate presentation of the SV650's, which were purchased new for this season.

The main focus points for 2005 are to achieve team and individual goals with Chris aiming for top 10 and Robbo top 20. With Six out of a total of 16 rounds so far, the riders are well on track to achieve their goals, as Chris is already 7th in the Championship, and Robbo is upto 19th with plenty of action still to come as the season unfolds. The team will be looking to further boost their point's standings at Snetterton on the 2nd and 3rd July, a track highly favoured by Chris and Robin - so watch this space.
