Following an intensive testing schedule the Linxcel-Seton Tuning Team competed in their first race meeting of the year on the 7th and 8th March at Brands Hatch in Kent.
The three man team were competing in an event run by the British Motorcycle Racing Club. Nick Clark and Josh Wainwright, who will be competing in the National Superstock 600 Championship later this year, raced in the MRO Stocksport 600 Class, whilst number one rider Hudson Kennaugh competed in the Powerbike Class.
After the teams recent testing in Spain and France the Superstock and Supersport bikes were rebuilt ready for testing/racing at Brands Hatch with several modifications from what was learnt abroad. The teams approach to the weekend was about continuous development with settings and parts being regularly changed to accumulate information ready for the official start to the teams season in the British Superbike Championships.
Phil Seton commented on the weekends events, 'This was a fantastic shakedown test for the whole team. We have gleaned valuable data about the set up needed for the teams bikes at the first round in April. The whole team has come together and are working very well. Hudson in particular is a breath of fresh air and his advice to his younger team mates has already proved invaluable to their development.'
Former South African Superbike Champion added, 'I am really happy with this weekends event. Everything has gone better than I could have expected so far. I felt that even at this early stage in the season I am setting a good pace and will definitely be competitive in the full championship. It really is a testament to the hard work and skills of the team around me. I'd really like to extend my thanks to every team member and all of our sponsors, and I can't wait until the first full round.'
