Kennaugh Leaves Linxcel Seton Yamaha Supersport team 12-08-09
Hudson Kennaugh has been replaced by Nick Clark in the Linxcel Seton Supersport team. The South African pulled off after 4 miserable laps on Sunday at Brands Hatch. The season started so well for the new partnership, with Hudson frequently quickest rider in qualifying and racing. He led by a mighty 5 secs at Donington before the weather intervened. But results went downhill, and having pulled off at Mallory, the end of the relationship was inevitable at Brands this weekend. (PM)
Here is the Press release; Linxcel Seton Tuning press release 12th August 2009
Round 8 Fuchs-Silkolene British Supersport Championship - Brands Hatch GP
Round 8 of the British Supersport Championship was once again a challenging weekend for Hudson Kennaugh and the Linxcel Seton Tuning race team.
Practice started well with Hudson running inside the top 10 for the first session raising the expectations of the team for a good weekend. In the Superstock class some new settings were suiting both Nick Clark who despite crashing out of the session with 5 minutes to go set the fastest time some ½ second faster than his nearest rival, and Josh Wainwright who was running inside the top 20.
Saturday qualifying also went well for the Superstock with Nick who was riding with an injured elbow after his crash on Friday qualifying 6th, very respectable starting position. Josh also managed his personal best time round the GP circuit and positioned himself in 22nd place for the race. Hudson Kennaugh wasn't as fortunate, an electrical problem left him with only one bike to put in a fast lap. He managed to get into 15th position on the last lap of qualifying, leaving him on the outside of the 4th row for the race.
The Supersport race was run in baking hot conditions with a track temperature of 46deg Celsius so tyre choice was going to be a major factor in race result. Hudson unfortunately didn't get the start he needed to for a challenge in the first part of the race. By lap 2 Hudson was off the pace and not able to work his way through to where he should have been. On only lap 4 Hudson retired from the race delivering his bike back to a disconsolate team.
The Superstock race was also in hot conditions. Both Nick and Josh worked their way back a few places from the start though Nick quickly worked his way to 6th on the back of the leading group. He was getting held up by the riders in front of him and on lap 5 of the race he pushed too hard to get passed and unfortunately crashed. Nick was not injured in the crash. Josh played a waiting game sitting in 22nd position for most of the race then in the last few laps moved up to 18th. One of his best results this season.
After a string of poor results it has been mutually agreed that Hudson Kennaugh will no longer be riding within the Linxcel-Seton Tuning team. We wish him the best of luck in the future and thank him for his efforts throughout the season so far. Nick Clark will step up to Supersport to fill the position at Cadwell Park on Sunday 9th August. We wish Nick the best of luck in this opportunity.
