Mike Smith leads the championship by 31pts after another decent w/e in the sun

With the penultimate round being a return visit to the Indy circuit, the sun shone all weekend, which is highly acceptable for late September - If only we could expect the same at Snetterton in mid June - No such luck.

The championship started to open up again (41 points) with Mike Smith(YPVS350) taking 4 wins at the previous Cadwell outing but Pat Herron(YPVS350) knows what it takes to win a championship and will keep plugging away and pushing Smith - Dan Wright(TZR) sits quite pretty in 3rd but its not safe yet, Jamie Cooper, Pete Fishwick and Roy Parbury round up the top 6.

The first race on Saturday the honours went to Pat Herron reducing gap down to 16 - Smith got away at the front and had a 2 second lead but on lap 4 he dropped his 'Blue Thing' at Druids handing the lead to Pat who held that to the finish -The battle behind for the final podium spots ensued with Jamie Cooper getting the better of Wright - Fishwick nipped Parbury Snr to 4th, as he struggled for rear grip round Graham Hill bend and John Parbury, son of Roy , rounded up the top 6.

David Hallet returns to his racing roots and dragged his YPVS350 out the shed after a spell in the BSB paddock racing in the Supersport 600 championship. Lacking power but not enthusiasm he got himself up to 11th from the back row. Another BSB exile in the Form of Jack Blake ex BuildBase, borrowed Spencer Reeve's TZR and finished .6 of a second behind Hallet in 14th as Rammit riders Paul Welch and Craig Jennings filled the gap to emphasise the close riding in this class.

Smith dusted himself down for the second race and came from the back row to win over the line by 2.7 seconds from Herron - Advantage now back to 21 - Again Wright took another step to cementing 3rd with his 2nd of the day. Fishwick, Cooper and Parbury all crossed the line within .2 of a second , Keith Roisseter took 7th from young Parbury , while 'Smiley Ben Miles' won his battle with Dexter Eyre back for his first meeting this year.

The habit continued but was an easier run for Smith, this time he settled into the groove and finished 9 seconds ahead of Herron who this time had his hands full of TZR's chomping at the bit to get by - Wright dived up the inside a few times at Graham Hill Bend only to lose drive out and hand the lead back to Herron by the time they hit Surtees. Again Fishwick was followed by Parbury to the line after some hair raising , rear wheel lifting episodes at Druids as he was trying to make a move stick. Cooper just missed out on 5th as Parbury got the drive on clearways exit to pip him at the line.

Welch just back from the ManxGP on his TZR and his SS600 bike was getting back into the groove and the top 10, Blake got the better of Hallet, while 59 year old Chris Wallace nabbed 14th from Berkshire Electrician Adrian Grove on his YPVS350.

The final race went to Smith again, who now leads by 31 points from Herron but with still a hundred to play for at Lydden in October its still open , Wright now needs just 2 points to secure 3rd so barring any major mishaps expect that to be nailed in the first race . He also from a bad start put in a sub 54 second lap round the indy circuit to finish 3rd which was an excellent ride ride. Parbury crashed out at Graham Hill Bend on the 8th lap of 10, Blake made the top 10 again, while Hallet had to settle for 12th
